About this location
Brusea Museum in Bruinisse
Bruinisse is an authentic fishing village full of sturdy seamen where mussel farming and fishing are the main source of income. You can recognise BruinisseĀ“s fishing boats in any harbour by the letters BRU painted on the bow. When in town, we can recommend a visit to the local museum Brusea to get a good impression of the lives and working conditions of the mussel fishermen and their families, in the past and in the present day. It shows the development of the local fisheries and you will find a reconstruction of a fisherman's cottage dating from the 18th century.
