The church building and the congregation have old papers. The building dates back to 1506, the congregation existed several centuries earlier (of course it was an RC congregation then). Already in the eighth century people came together in Haamstede in a wooden building.

Every Sunday at 10.00 there is a church service. For children up to about 4 years of age there is a crèche (outside the summer months on request: tel. 0111-671907) and for children up to 12 years of age there is a children's side service from Sunday 5 May to Sunday 1 September. In addition to a modern sound system, there is also a loop for the hearing impaired. The church is easily accessible for wheelchair users. In high season there is coffee every other week after the service.
