On the outskirts of the small town of Brouwershaven stands the imposing Great Church or St. Nicholas Church. Brouwershaven is a port founded in the 13th century beautifully situated on the waters of the Grevelingen, a flourishing water sports area in the province of Zeeland.
The oldest part of the church, the choir with its chapels and chapels, dates from the 15th century. From the outside, the church immediately impresses with its large dimensions. Remarkable is also the vastness of the space when entering. The interior is very light and spacious and still has many authentic elements. The church houses a beautiful organ. The organ case from 1557 is decorated with beautiful, completely gilded Renaissance carvings. The acoustics of the church building are excellent.
