About this location
Mill De Hoop is a corn mill dating from 1866 on the Westelijke Kanaalweg in Wemeldinge. It is a round stone scaffolding mill with a flight of 21.70 meters.
The mill was built in 1866 by the miller's servant of the miller of the predecessor of the other mill Aeolus. The mill remained in operation until 1968. After which, in 1969, the conversion of the mill into a summer residence could be prevented at the last minute. Between 1981 and 1983 the mill was radically restored. Nowadays a volunteer miller occasionally puts the mill into operation.
Molen De Hoop can be visited on Saturdays between 13:00 and 16:00 hrs.
