About this location

Mill De Hoop is a corn mill dating from 1724 on the Oostdijk in Sint Philipsland. It is an octagonal ground sailor with a flight of 17.60 meters. The mill remained in operation until 1969.

Repairs were carried out in 1972 and 1988. Especially the latter was special. After the dike where the mill is located was brought to Delta height, the mill was 'in a hole' as it were. That's why the windmill was raised in its entirety. So that the mill could once again dominate the dike as before.

Mill De Hoop can only be visited by appointment.
