    Tips for the Easter holidays in Zeeland

    Zeeland puts on all sorts of fun activities around Easter. You can visit an Easter market or take an Easter stroll in Waterdunen. If you’re looking for something to do with the whole family, how about an Easter brunch at an activity farm or a ride on a steam train? It’s all possible in Zeeland at Easter.

    Below is a handy list of all the Easter markets in Zeeland. Visit one of the Easter markets or activities close to you and immerse yourself in one of the festivities which Zeeland is rich in!

    Middelburg Easter Fair – 19, 20 and 21 April

    At Middelburg’s Easter fair you can enjoy all the trappings of Easter from stallholders at the main market square in Middelburg. In front of the town hall and surrounded by bustling pavement cafes, all sorts of special bargains are on offer, from antiques and other collectibles to decorative items for home and garden, local delicacies and other great stuff! The Easter fair takes place from 19, 20 and 21 April from 10 am to 5 pm.

    Vlissingen Easter market – 20 April

    Vlissingen’s Easter market is host to 150 stalls varying from jewellery to delicious waffles. Saunter through the market with great views out to sea and complete your day with a stroll along the beach! The Easter market takes place on 20 April on the Boulevard from 10 am to 5 pm.

    Breskens Easter Market – 21 April

    Breskens too, has its very own Easter market. The market opens on 21 April between 10 am and 5 pm and has various stalls. Enjoy all the fun and entertainment along with a drink and bite to eat.

    More Easter activities

    In the countryside

    In addition to the various Easter markets, a whole host of Easter activities are organised in Zeeland. The local nature conservation trust, Stichting Het Zeeuwse Landschap, organises Easter walks throughout the province. During the walks, not only can you enjoy some amazing scenery, but also listen to what the guide has to say about its fauna and flora. A wide choice of trails is available, for example, in Het Zwin, Waterdunen or Oranjezon.

    Ever been to an ostrich farm? Monnikenwerve ostrich farm organises special Easter tours the whole weekend. Ostriches exists in all sorts of shapes and sizes, from chicks to fully grown breeding birds. During the guided tour you will learn lots of interesting facts about this flightless bird.

    Time for Easter brunch!

    There are lots of great activities to enjoy with all the family. For example, enjoy an Easter brunch at Vierlinden in Goes or at Klok’uus in ’s-Heer Arendskerke, while the kids can frolic around in the playground.  

    An Easter ride on a steam train or day out with the car?

    Fancy riding the steam train between Goes and Borsele on 20 and 21 April? Travel from Goes on an authentic steam train to Hoedekenskerke, where you can have your picture taken at the special Easter photo booth. A nice souvenir!

    Do you like parties?

    If you like bobbing up and down on the dance floor, there’s nothing better than the Easter Festival in Heinkenszand. With the longest Easter food fair, live music, food trucks and a festive evening, it promises to be a weekend full of surprises.
